Forbes Media owned and operated both the eight story Commercial office building at 60 5th Ave and the adjacent three story residential Townhouse at 11 West 12th Street. The Townhouse, originally built in the mid 1800’s, underwent major renovations over the years which resulted in the two buildings sharing structural support and mechanical infrastructure.

In order to facilitate the sale of the Townhouse, OMARA was selected to plan and manage the demolition and construction required to sever all ties between the two buildings and provide completely independent support. Tasks included major demolition, excavation, foundation work, jacking and shoring the existing structures, all new steel and masonry support, as well as installation of a rooftop chiller.
